On November 27th of this year I placed an order with WalMart. Part of the items were to be shipped directly to my home and part were to be picked up at the store. All of this went fine - except that the three items that were to be shipped to my home arrived one at a time - a few days apart. This seemed a little inefficient to me - but I got my merchandise - so all is good. I picked up the "ship to store" items and there was no problem there.
Here is the problem. One of the items in the order was a "pre-buy" for a popular game that was to be released this past weekend. On December 4th, I received an email from WalMart saying there had been a system "glitch" and that some order items showed "Canceled" on the status when actually there were not. I checked my order right away and - sure enough - the pre-buy item showed "Canceled". I did not immediately get concerned, figuirng since I had received no other correspondence, everything was OK. I waited until yesterady, December 7th and checked the order status again. It still said "Canceled". At this point, I called WalMart customer service. The guy told me that all he could see was the same thing I was seeing online. I told him that I could not wait around to find out if I was, in fact, going to receive this. I explained that this was a gift for a child, that it was a popular new game and that it would probably sell out quickly. I told him I could not afford to wait around - only to then not receive the item from WalMart - and not be able to get the game anywhere else. He then said "Oh, I see now - it says the item will be shipped tomorrow - December 8th". He said I should receive an email when the item shipped. I told him I would give it a couple more days.
This morning, December 8th, as promised, I received an email from Walmart stating that my item had shipped and contained the shipping number. OK - I could breathe a sigh of relief now. Imagine my surprise when I got home this evening to find the item in my mailbox!!
Now, you might think - what are you complaining about? You got your order item - all is good. Well, yes and no! I am thankful that I received the item - no doubt about that. My doubt at this point is whether I want to deal with WalMart in the future. I take great issue with feeling that I have been lied to by a company I am dealing with. I guess it is just the principle!!
Anyone else have any problems with WalMart this season? Or any other time?
Nope no problem. I did a boo boo myself yesterday. Ordered gift to be shipped to Chelsea and forgot to put that address in so it came back with confirmation to be shipped to Punta Gorda. Hurried to PC andn wrote Wal Mart to cancel or change address. It was done and I got email this morning saying all was well item is canceled. NOW I hope this is true cause I am going to reorder and get the right address in this time. I love Wal Mart even though at times they frustrate me. No where else can I do one stop shopping and feel like I paid the lowest price besides being so convenient and close to home.
