Kudos to Hobby Lobby

I personally applaud Hobby Lobby's actions in the filing of the lawsuit against the Obama administration's contraceptive/abortion mandate.  The mandate, issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, requires businesses to furnish insurance plans that cover contraceptives and "emergency" contraceptives, or "morning-after" pills.  These drugs cause chemical abortions.  This mandate went into effect on August 1, 2012. 

The lawsuit asserts that the mandate violates the Constitution's guarantee of freedom of religion, speech and association.  A prior lawsuit was filed and, in July, a Federal court issued an injunction which prohibited enforcement of the mandate against a Colorado company whose owners were Catholics.  It is reported that there are now 28 separate suits against this mandate.

It is certainly a sad time for our nation when a business has to choose between their religious beliefs and following the laws handed down by our government.  It is especially sad, and should be especially alarming to all Americans, that our own government is taking away our Constitutional rights - one at a time - and we are doing NOTHING.  This nation was founded on religious freedoms - oh wait - that is precisely WHY this nation was founded.  It was founded by people fleeing a place where they were not allowed to practice their religious beliefs.
