When I first woke up this morning, Labor Day, the first thing that caught my attention was that it was raining. Oh well, not so good for the planned bar-b-que. I watched the weather just to see if there was any chance we would have a decent time to grill today. That was not encouraging.
Of course, I made the coffee since I don't function well until I have had at least one cup of coffee - maybe two. So, at this point, everything is OK - weather a little disappointing - but OK. After getting some coffee down and just lounging for a bit, I decided that I should go ahead and get started on the boiled eggs for the potato salad and maybe even go ahead and get the potatoes peeled, washed and cut up.
I go to the kitchen and NO WATER! Yes - on a holiday with cooking to do and the coffee pot getting low already - no water. I tried several times to call the emergency line (to report problems) to my local water company. The line was continuously busy which was no surprise. Finally, after many attempts, I got through.
The lady answered the phone (answering service for the water company) and asked how she could help me. I told her that I was calling to see why we had no water. She did not ask for a service address or any other information. She simply said the following:
"There is a water leak is why you have no water. They have not found it yet. Have you seen it?"
If I had the water to make another pot of coffee, I would simply sit down and have a good laugh over that one. How's that for customer service?
How would you rate your water company? Hopefully, it is not Pine Bluff Water Authority.
