OK - we all know the big news these days is the - shall we say - short - marriage of Kim and Chris. Now, I have heard of marriages that didn't last very long - personally know of some that did not last a year. But, come on - 72 days! Of course, this may not be a record.
But - the ones I know of that did not last very long also did not cost anywhere near as much. I simply cannot imagine spending that much money on a wedding and have the marriage last only 72 days. That is absurd. Of course, I would not spend that much on a wedding to begin with.
The explanation that I heard this morning on the news was that she got "caught up" in the moment, so to speak, with the taping for the reality show and all. Come on - do people really get MARRIED and spend that much on a wedding because they simply got "caught up in the moment"???
We buy a sweater we didn't need, pair of shoes we didn't need, maybe even the latest gadget off TV that we don't need - because we got "caught up in the moment" - but they don't cost anywhere near the amount of money that was spent on that wedding.
How many hungry, unemployed people - and their families - could that money have fed?
What do you think??
